Greg Smith – Money Makes the World go Round

As parents we have a responsibility to equip our children with a huge variety of skills to help them cope as adults in this big and scary world. It is often a daunting task trying to get children to understand money.

These Australian books are a clever blend of fiction and non-fiction. The stories are so engrossing for the child that they are often not aware of the inherent lessons being taught as they go on adventures with some 10 year old children. Some of the powerful money morals that are taught are donating to charities, respect for others and the management of greed)

There are 3 books in this series aimed at children in various age groups starting as young as 5. There is also complimentary colouring book suitable for children as young as 3.

The underlying content has been modelled on the National Consumer and Financial Literacy Framework set by the Australian Government Financial Literacy Foundation and is currently being assessed by the Curriculum Corporation (part of MCEETYA the Ministerial Council on Education, Employment Training and Youth Affairs).

All books will be listed under the Essential Elements program (EEP) and promoted to school teachers as an Essential Elements resource through the Financial Literacy Foundations Educators and Trainers Network. This means that in the future hopefully your child will get access to these books at school as well.
